Currently, the 3D medical microscope and 3D celioscope are using the binocular technology. Close-up shooting on a subject with a binocular technology causes binocular disparity which makes a person’s vision becomes severely fatique. When doctors encounter binolcular disparity, they usually report dizziness and discomfort. Also when doctors are working on precise surgeries, they have difficulty concentrating over a long period of time, which causes fatigue and vision problems. In addition, it is difficult to freely adjust the magnification or adjust the focus effectively because the optical axis is hard to control accurately on the left and right lenses.
However the monocular 3D imaging shooting technology that the company uses is vision fatique-free. While shooting a 3D image, the focus and angle adjustment can respond immediately to free various angles. Also, when doctors perform precise surgeries, they can use close-up 3D shooting for small subjects.
MBC TV station has verified this technology by filming a documentary, “Insect Kingdom 3D,” making this technology available for broadcasting and filming movies.
By utilizing the 3D microscope for precise surgery, the easy use of magnification and focus control will create a digital 3D microscope which will help with performing precise surgery. Also, if you use this technology to create a 3D celioscope, the unit cost of production of celioscope module will be low. Because of the low cost, the production of the disposable 3D celioscope is possible.
The celioscope surgical instruments are usually disposable, however the existing 3D celioscope used today is being reused by disinfecting it, which can cause infection problems. Thus our company is pursuing in developing a disposable 3D celioscope.
